X-ray tech professionals with certifications should be able to find an abundance of openings on x-ray careers at general hospitals, doctors’ offices, clinics and outpatient diagnostic imaging centers.
X-ray careers have emerged into a growing field of high technology, using various image-processing techniques. Due to the increased use of computers and technology in the health-care industry, the profession is becoming more in demand than facilities can recruit their staff. Anyone can jump into the bandwagon and pursue x-ray careers. The minimum requirement for tech schools is a high school diploma and you are now set for a one-year certificate, two-year associates degree or four-year bachelor’s degree, depending on your availability and preference.
After completing the necessary training and hands-on experience, you can now obtain a license from the American Registry of Radiological Technologists, which is required by most states. Although some employers offer x-ray careers to those with certifications alone, pursuing registration can increase your chances of advancement and raise your salary.
Your x-ray careers can expand as you continue on-the-job training, practical experience, daily work and training in medical business. Many x-ray careers can lead you to become a supervisor, an educator or a member of the administration.

However, x-ray careers are also available in private clinics and other health-related institutions.
